About Me

I’m a warm, reliable, and creative person who genuinely enjoys helping children learn, grow, and explore the world around them. I recently graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Marine Science, and I love encouraging curiosity and learning, whether that’s through creative activities, spending time outdoors, or helping with schoolwork.

Creativity has also been a big part of my life. I hold a Distinction in an Art Foundation Diploma and have worked professionally as a mural artist and painter for the past three years alongside my studies. I also love music, play the guitar, and enjoy singing. When teaching art, I often like to incorporate an educational element into creative projects. For example, we might paint coral reefs while learning about the incredible animals that live there, or use leaves and natural objects to create artwork while exploring the world around us.
I also enjoy sewing, a skill that I love using both creatively and practically. I believe sewing can help children develop patience, creativity, and confidence, while also teaching them a valuable life skill. I would be happy to introduce children to simple sewing projects if they are interested, as well as showing them practical skills such as repairing and mending clothes.

Outside of work, I lead a healthy and active lifestyle. I’m passionate about nutrition, and I love healthy baking and cooking wholesome meals. I was taught many of these skills by my grandmother, and I enjoy carrying on that tradition by sharing them with others. To keep active, I enjoy running, strength training, yoga, and long walks in nature. I truly believe movement is medicine, and I love encouraging children to stay active, spend time outdoors, and develop an appreciation for the natural world.

I’m bilingual in English and Spanish and have a real passion for languages, travel, and experiencing different cultures. After finishing high school, I spent nine months travelling the world solo, an experience that helped me become highly independent, adaptable, and confident. It taught me to approach new situations with initiative, resilience, and a positive attitude—qualities that continue to shape both my personal and professional life.

Above all, I aim to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children feel happy, supported, and encouraged to be themselves. I love finding ways to make everyday activities meaningful, whether that’s through creativity, learning, cooking, exploring outdoors, or simply spending quality time together.

My Experience

I have experience caring for children ranging from 8 months to 16 years old and am confident adapting my approach to suit different ages, personalities, and individual needs.

For the past several years, I have provided regular babysitting alongside my studies, supporting children with daily routines, meal preparation, creative activities, homework, and play. I enjoy encouraging children's curiosity and confidence through activities tailored to their interests, whether that's arts and crafts, baking, spending time outdoors, or imaginative play.

I spent two months working as an au pair in Spain, caring for a seven-year-old boy. I taught him English through play-based activities such as Lego, drawing, and games while helping to build his confidence with language learning. Alongside childcare, I was responsible for household tasks, including cleaning and maintaining the family home while he attended summer camp.

I also have experience tutoring children from the age of 10 through to GCSE level, including GCSE Chemistry for 16-year-olds. I enjoy adapting my teaching style to suit each child's individual needs and believe learning should be engaging, encouraging, and confidence-building. Whether helping with schoolwork or introducing new ideas through play and creativity, I aim to make learning enjoyable and accessible.

Through my marine science studies and internships, I have had the opportunity to teach children in a range of educational settings. In Indonesia, I delivered art and conservation activities for children aged 5 to 10, using creativity to teach them about the natural world and the importance of protecting it. In Costa Rica, while working as a Marine Biology Assistant, I taught a large group of American 10-year-olds about sea turtle conservation, sharing hands-on and engaging lessons about marine life and environmental stewardship. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate with children of different ages and backgrounds and to make learning both fun and memorable.

In addition, my experience working in hospitality has given me excellent time management skills and a high standard of cleanliness and organisation. I am confident preparing meals, managing household tasks efficiently, and supporting busy family routines with a positive and reliable approach.
