Hi! I’m Isla, a Speech and Language Therapy student at the University of Sheffield with a genuine passion for working with children. I’m caring, patient, reliable and enthusiastic, and I love creating a fun, safe and engaging environment where children can feel happy and confident. Whether that’s playing games, getting creative with crafts, reading stories, helping with homework or spending time outdoors, I enjoy making each babysitting experience enjoyable for every child. I understand that every child is different and always aim to adapt to their individual interests and needs while giving parents peace of mind that their children are in safe hands.
My Experience
• Speech and Language Therapy student at the University of Sheffield.
• Volunteered in a primary school supporting children with speech, language and communication needs using Language Link activities.
• Worked in a high school, including supporting children with SEND across all ages.
• Dance teacher for 3 years - planning and leading classes for children while building their confidence and teamwork skills.
• Experience volunteering in healthcare settings e.g. NHS elderly and dementia wards; developing strong communication, empathy and professionalism.
• Lifeguard for over 2 years, developing strong responsibility, vigilance and the ability to remain calm in busy situations.
My Qualifications
• RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (includes First Aid, CPR and emergency response training)
• Studying BMedSci Speech and Language Therapy at the University of Sheffield
• DBS check
• Safeguarding training
• Full UK driving licence (although don’t have a car in Sheffield yet)
My Availability
• Weekends
• Thursday evenings
My Fees
- Babysitting from £13.00 per hour
My standard hourly rate applies to babysitting during the day and evenings. I’m happy to discuss rates for regular bookings, multiple children, or late-night babysitting. Please don’t hesitate to message me if you have any questions.
