Ruth
Nanny in London
My Summary
About Me
Highly organised, responsible and energetic professional seeking to transition into a nanny role after a successful six year career in the engineering industry. I bring extensive experience managing complex schedules and deadlines, balancing multiple priorities and supporting the development of others through mentoring and line management duties. With a calm, patient and proactive nature, alongside experience volunteering with children through Rainbows Girls Group, I am passionate about creating a safe, positive and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow with confidence. I am excited at the prospect of bringing my strong organisational skills, reliability and enthusiasm into a long-term role with a family. While my background may not be a traditional route into childcare, I believe my decision to pursue a career that aligns more closely with my values demonstrates maturity, self-awareness and courage. I hope to work with a family who sees these qualities as positive examples for their children, such that they feel inspired to follow their own aspirations.
On a more personal note, I have a genuine passion for time spent outdoors in nature and enjoy running, hiking and swimming in particular. I also enjoy travelling and exploring new places, both at home and abroad, and love cooking and eating good food.
My Experience
Over the past six years, I have developed strong organisational, communication and leadership skills through my professional career, where I have been responsible for managing complex schedules, coordinating multiple priorities and supporting others through mentoring and line-management responsibilities.
Alongside my professional experience, I volunteered for three years as a Rainbows Leader, supporting girls aged 5–7 through structured activities, games and group sessions. This role involved helping children build confidence, encouraging participation and contributing to a safe, inclusive and positive environment. It also gave me valuable experience communicating with both children and parents.
I currently mentor one colleague and line manage another colleague within my organisation, providing guidance, encouragement and support tailored to their individual needs. This has strengthened my ability to build trust, adapt my communication style and support the development of others.
In addition, I regularly provide day care and exercise for a local family's dog through a volunteering arrangement, demonstrating reliability, responsibility and a commitment to supporting others within my community.
While I do not come from a traditional childcare background, I hope that my experience highlights the patience, organisation, maturity and interpersonal skills that I have to provide excellent care and support to children and their families.
