My Experience

As a Library Assistant, I exercise strong communication and interpersonal skills to build supportive relationships with young learners. I created and ran a series of Children's Creative Writing Workshops, in which I supported children 1:1 developing their creativity, imagination, and confidence. In this role, I also provide daily support to vulnerable people, disseminating complex information in a simple and accessible manner, navigating emotional complexities, and enhancing skills of active listening, patience, and problem solving. I am a creative, patient, and kind individual who always works to the best of my ability to help. I regularly work with local schools, confident in supporting children from early-years education to 11+.

Further, I have professional experience providing care to rehabilitated animals and enjoy regular cat-sitting, further demonstrating my kindness, caring, and compassionate approaches to work. As an Animal Care Assistant, I exercised a keen eye for detail, adhering to tailored nutritional and enrichment plans for vulnerable animals.

In my personal life, I enjoy taking great care of my nephews (5 and 4yo) and have looked after them closely since being new-born.

I am keen to provide supportive care, helping with home-schooling or homework, after-school activities, school runs etc. I am organised, adept at time-management, and extremely reliable.

My Qualifications

I have an outstanding academic record of achievement; my highest level of education being my Bachelors (Hons) in English Literature in which I achieved a higher grade 2:1. Recently, I have completed a 120+ hour programme in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. This training has allowed me to understanding learning processes of children and young people, including key literacy skills such as phonics, reading and writing, and speaking. Thus, I am well equipped to support children with their literacy homework.

I value my role as a supportive individual and I am passionate about creating nurturing and safe spaces. Due to my daily proximity to children, young people, and vulnerable individuals, I took it upon myself to enrol in a Safeguarding Children course, achieving up to Level 3. Here, I acquired knowledge of the legal responsibilities and requirements of practitioners according to the Children’s Act (1989) and (2004) and how to responsibly safeguard children. I am also trained as an 'Autism Friend' which requires knowledge of neurodivergence and commitments to tailoring communication to be inclusive for everybody. I have further training in Understanding Child Development, Learning Disabilities Awareness, and Autism Awareness.

I have a clean Basic DBS certificate, awarded in February 2026.

My Availability

I am extremely flexible with my availability during the week and weekends. However, I am due to begin a post as a Language Instructor in mid-February 2027. Up until then, I am completely free and available!
