Welcome to Little Sapling Childminding! I provide a warm, safe and nurturing home-from-home environment in Baberton, Edinburgh, where children are encouraged to learn, grow and flourish at their own pace.
As a Care Inspectorate registered childminder, I offer high-quality childcare for children from birth to 16 years, including full-day, part-time, before and after school, and holiday care. I aim to create a calm, welcoming environment where every child feels valued, secure and supported.
Each day offers a balance of indoor and outdoor learning, including arts and crafts, messy play, sensory activities, reading, baking, gardening, nature walks, visits to local parks and libraries, and local playgroups. I believe children learn best through play, exploration and positive relationships.
Nutritious home-prepared meals and snacks are provided, and I work closely with parents to support each child's individual routines, interests and development.

My Experience
As a registered Care Inspectorate childminder and a mother of two young children, I have daily hands-on experience caring for children of different ages and understand the importance of providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, which has given me a strong understanding of children's development, behaviour, learning and emotional wellbeing.
I am passionate about supporting children's learning and development through play, encouraging confidence, independence and curiosity. I plan a variety of age-appropriate activities, including creative play, sensory experiences, outdoor adventures and visits to local parks, libraries and playgroups.
I believe every child is unique and deserves individual attention, encouragement and opportunities to thrive. I work closely with parents to support each child's routines, interests and development, building strong relationships based on trust, communication and respect.
My Qualifications
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and am a Care Inspectorate registered childminder. I am committed to continuous professional development and regularly update my knowledge to provide a safe, nurturing and high-quality childcare service. I continue to undertake relevant training to support children's learning, wellbeing and development.
My Availability
I offer full-day and part-time childcare, before and after school care, and school holiday care (subject to availability). My standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Earlier starts and later finishes may be available by prior arrangement and are charged at an enhanced rate. I also offer occasional weekend childcare by prior arrangement, subject to availability, at an enhanced rate. My Fees
- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
My standard weekday childcare fee is £8.00 per hour and includes nutritious home-prepared meals and snacks for children eating solid foods. I provide high-quality, personalised childcare in a warm, home-from-home environment.
Separate session rates apply for before and after school wraparound care. Earlier starts, later finishes and occasional weekend childcare are available by prior arrangement and are charged at an enhanced rate.
