About Me
Both children are happy and healthy, in a good routine, with both of them attending nursery and/or school in Dubai, 5 days a week. The eldest is a curious and happy boy, who has recently fallen in love with photography and Lego. He is inquisitive, talkative and loves to learn anything new. The youngest is fearless, independent and full of energy. She adores water, playing with it or swimming. She loves being outdoors in playgrounds.
The family live in Dubai, where they love the lifestyle and weather. The family are based in a brand-new apartment in downtown Dubai with modern amenities; the apartment is serviced by a shared gym, pool and beach lagoon, which the nanny can use in their free time. The area is walkable to a supermarket, cafes, pharmacy and a marina full of water-front restaurants.
Both parents are working professionals.
My Requirements
The role will be sole charge. During term times, as the children are full-time in nursery, the role would be 6:30-8:30 (i.e. ready and drop off, school starts at 8am in Dubai) with the afternoons from 13:00 – 19:00. 2 Saturdays are also expected per month (flexibly), which would bring the average weekly contact hours to 41 during term time. During non-term times, the nanny would be expected to be with the children full-time Monday to Friday on a 55-hour week. No weekend hours are required during non-term time.
The family are flexible for a live-in or live-out position but would like to start off with live-in.
These are loving and present parents, who would like to find a nanny with similar characteristics. The right candidate, however, will also be firm when required, ensuring the children grow up to be independent, intellectually curious and driven people, treating all people fairly and understanding right from wrong. Someone with a proactive and positive attitude will be a great fit. Manners are very important to them. Their absolute unicorn would be someone who works at a London prep school looking to move to a family role in the UAE.
The family are looking for more of a governess/private tutor role than a nanny. Teaching and child development would be a key part of the role.
The role will predominately be child-facing and development-led, with the family employing a live-in housekeeper who helps with the laundry and general house cleaning. That being said, they family do want someone who is clean and responsible around the house.
As mentioned, the position will be predominantly based in between Dubai. The family do like to travel internationally, so someone who would like to see the world and is flexible to travel is essential.
