About Me

Hello! I'm Ellen, a qualified primary teacher (QTS) with a First Class degree in Primary Education and a Master of Science in Developmental Psychology.

Caring for and supporting children has always been at the heart of what I do. I love getting to know each child's unique personality and creating a warm, safe and nurturing environment where they feel happy, valued and confident to learn, play and grow.

I enjoy planning fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities, whether that's spending time outdoors, reading stories, baking, arts and crafts, imaginative play, messy play or supporting homework and learning through play. I believe children thrive when they feel secure, listened to and encouraged to explore the world around them.

Families describe me as kind, patient, reliable and approachable. I understand how important it is for parents to feel confident that their children are in safe, capable hands, and I pride myself on building trusting relationships with both children and their families through open communication, consistency and genuine care.

I am currently available throughout the summer and would love the opportunity to support a family during the school holidays. Whether you need childcare while you're at work, an extra pair of hands during the day or evening babysitting, I'd be delighted to help. My availability will change from September as I'll be returning to Liverpool, so I'm currently looking for summer childcare opportunities. Please feel free to get in touch if you'd like to find out more.

My Experience

I have several years of experience caring for children and young people from newborn through to 16 years of age, with additional experience supporting young adults in a university wellbeing setting.

I have worked as a full-time nanny in both live-in and live-out roles, providing attentive, nurturing and reliable care tailored to each family's individual needs. My responsibilities have included establishing daily routines, preparing meals, supporting children's learning and development, organising engaging activities, school and nursery drop-offs and pick-ups, bath and bedtime routines, overnight care, and helping with homework.

I have extensive experience caring for babies and young children, including newborn care, supporting feeding routines, weaning, potty training and encouraging children's development through play and age-appropriate activities. I understand the importance of providing consistent, responsive care that helps children feel secure, happy and confident.

I have cared for multiple children simultaneously, including looking after four children within one family, as well as working in a nanny share caring for children from two different families. I have also provided overnight care and am experienced in managing the varying needs of multiple children while maintaining a calm, organised and nurturing environment.

As a trusted nanny, I have travelled extensively with families both within the UK and internationally, including destinations such as South Africa and Ibiza. These experiences required adaptability, discretion and the ability to maintain children's routines and wellbeing while away from home, ensuring they felt safe, settled and cared for in unfamiliar environments.

Alongside my nannying experience, I have worked in education and wellbeing roles supporting children and young people with a wide range of needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). My First Class degree in Primary Education (QTS) and Master of Science in Developmental Psychology have provided me with a strong understanding of child development, behaviour, learning and emotional wellbeing, enabling me to provide thoughtful, evidence-informed care.

I hold current Paediatric First Aid and Level 3 Safeguarding qualifications and pride myself on building positive, trusting relationships with children and parents alike. I strive to create a warm, safe and engaging environment where children can learn, play and thrive, while giving parents complete confidence that their children are in caring and capable hands.

My Qualifications

I hold a First Class Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education (5–11) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), giving me a strong foundation in child development, learning, behaviour and supporting children's individual needs.

I have also completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Developmental Psychology, where I developed further knowledge and understanding of children's social, emotional and cognitive development, wellbeing and evidence-based approaches to supporting children.

Alongside my academic qualifications, I hold Paediatric First Aid training and Level 3 Safeguarding training. I have experience supporting children with a range of needs, including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and have a strong understanding of creating inclusive, safe and nurturing environments where children can thrive.

My combination of education, psychology and practical childcare experience allows me to provide care that supports not only children's safety and happiness, but also their learning, confidence and overall development.

My Availability

Available throughout the summer holidays for nannying, babysitting and childcare. I am flexible with daytime, evening and weekend availability. My availability will change from September as I will be returning to Liverpool.
