About Me

Hi, I’m Ruby! I consider myself to be a very warm, approachable and compassionate person who loves children and is able to create strong bonds with them. I also feel very passionate about working with children in my future carer. I am a third year psychology student at the University of Leeds who is looking for some work whilst at home in Swansea during holidays.

My Experience

I have experience being a baby sitter for several children who are friends of my family, including a child with SEN.

I have completed several teaching assistant placement roles in both primary school and secondary settings. This included conducting 1-1 tailored reading support sessions with the children and helping them with any work. Due to the nature of this role I was quickly made familiar with safeguarding measures.

Weekly, I volunteer in a child care setting, looking after children from age 3-16. I find this very rewarding and enjoyable! In September I am also starting a role in a child contact centre.

I have previously been an English language and literature tutor at GCSE level, helping students with the build up to their exams by provided personalised help.

My Qualifications

I am DBS checked and can provide details of my certificate upon request.

My Availability

I am very flexible throughout the summer months and am available until the 20th September when I return to university. I will then be available again over Christmas.
