My Summary
About Me
I am a Chinese state-certified history educator and native Mandarin speaker based in Westminster (SW1P). I hold an MSc in History from the University of Edinburgh, a BA in History, a Chinese State Senior High School Teacher Qualification Certificate and National Putonghua Proficiency Certification (PSC). I am also a member of The London Library in St James’s.
I provide calm, structured tuition in Mandarin, History and Humanities. Mandarin support includes early learning, 7+/11+, GCSE, IB and HSK preparation, with clear standard pronunciation and development in speaking, reading and writing.
For History, Art History and Humanities, I help pupils develop reading comprehension, source analysis, historical curiosity and structured analytical thinking from KS2 and KS3 through GCSE. I also support bilingual and international pupils adapting to British independent-school expectations.
I offer in-person home visits across Westminster, SW1, Chelsea/SW3 and South Kensington/SW7, as well as online lessons.
My Experience
My experience combines formal History teacher training, advanced academic study and research-led education. I hold a Chinese State Senior High School Teacher Qualification Certificate and have studied History at BA and MSc level, including an MSc at the University of Edinburgh. Through my independent research in London libraries and cultural institutions, I have developed strong skills in explaining complex ideas, analysing visual and written sources, structuring essays and giving constructive feedback. As a native Mandarin speaker with National Putonghua Proficiency Certification, I support learners with accurate pronunciation, vocabulary, reading and written expression. I tailor lessons to each pupil’s age, confidence and school objectives, including primary, secondary, GCSE, bilingual and international-school learners.
