My Summary

My Experience

I am an Ofsted-registered childminder, a mother to a young daughter and the founder of The Fox & Fern Day Care. My experience combines hands-on childcare, parenting, professional training and a strong understanding of how to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for young children.

Before opening my setting, I helped to lead and coordinate large Sunday children’s sessions for groups of more than 100 children. This involved planning age-appropriate activities and resources, leading group activities, coordinating staff and volunteers, supporting children through transitions and helping children of different ages and personalities to participate confidently. I have also worked closely with children, students and families with a range of individual needs, always aiming to provide calm, inclusive and supportive care.

I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childminding and a Paediatric First Aid certificate. I have also completed training in Safeguarding Children and Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibilities, Understanding and Working with the EYFS, Leading and Managing a Childminding Setting, Recording Children’s Development and Food Hygiene. I am fully enhanced DBS checked.

I am committed to continuing my professional development and am currently completing government-funded qualifications to become an Early Years SENCO and to further qualify in childcare practice. This will strengthen my ability to recognise and support children’s individual needs, work effectively with families and other professionals, and provide inclusive care in which every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Becoming a mother has further strengthened my understanding of children’s individual routines, emotional needs, development and the importance of trusting relationships between parents and childcare providers. I understand how significant it is to leave your child in somebody else’s care, so I place great importance on communication, consistency and treating every child with the same patience, warmth and attentiveness I would want for my own daughter.

My Qualifications

I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childminding and am registered with Ofsted as an early years childminder. I also hold a current Paediatric First Aid certificate and have completed Safeguarding Children and Designated Safeguarding Lead training.

My additional professional training includes Understanding and Working with the Early Years Foundation Stage, Leading and Managing a Childminding Setting, Recording Children’s Development and Food Hygiene. I am also fully enhanced DBS checked.

These qualifications will strengthen my ability to identify and support individual needs, provide inclusive early education and work effectively with children, families and other professionals.

My Availability

The Fox & Fern Day Care is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00am until 6:00pm, throughout the year.

I am currently welcoming enquiries for both full-time and part-time childcare placements. Term-time arrangements and wraparound care may also be considered depending on each family’s individual requirements.

Availability can vary according to the child’s age, the days required and the statutory childminding ratios, so families are encouraged to contact me with their preferred days, hours and anticipated start date. Where an immediate space is unavailable, families may be offered a place on my waiting list.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
• Childminding from £8.00 per hour

My private childcare fees are age-banded to reflect the level of care, supervision and staffing required:

* Children under two: £12.50 per hour
* Two-year-olds: £10.00 per hour
* Children aged three to four: £7.00 per hour

Government-funded childcare hours are available for eligible families, subject to the relevant funding terms and eligibility requirements. Funded hours cover the childcare and early education element of the placement.

A consumables charge of £7.50 per full day may apply to funded placements, but is optional. This contributes towards meals and snacks, drinks, craft and activity materials, toiletries and other everyday essentials used during the child’s time at The Fox & Fern Day Care.

All fees and applicable charges are explained clearly before a placement is agreed and confirmed within the parent contract.
