About Me
Hi, I'm Hannah, a counsellor and home educating mum of two little boys (5 and 7). My husband, Matt, tutors maths online and will otherwise be around but not officially part of the childminding side of things. We want to welcome other home ed families in our area to make use of us for ad hoc drop offs that allow you to take a break/take another child to a club/attend an appointment/get some work done or even take some well earned rest time for yourself! We'll mainly be staying home when we have other children joining us, either keeping active and imaginative in the garden (part of which is covered so available year round), or sharing indoor activities like reading, board games, painting, making dens, making circuits etc etc. I want to get to know the individual children so that I know what kind of activities they enjoy and can tailor their stay with us, even if it's only for a couple of hours here and there.
My Experience
I'm new to childminding but have home educated my children from the beginning and know how full on it can be to spend most if not all of your time with your enthusiastic and boisterous children! I've cared for friends' children in an unofficial capacity before and look forward to being able to support more home ed families like ours.
As a counsellor, I take the approach of focusing on supporting children to check in with their emotions and needs, to learn to regulate themselves, and to develop positive social skills that support their self esteem.
My Qualifications
As well as home educating my own children, I've completed the Core Training in caring for children from Childminding UK, as well as a paediatric first aid course through St John's Ambulance.
My Availability
We are usually available from 9am until about 2pm and sometimes in the afternoon, depending on our schedule. By all means ask if you have a specific time you need, as it's a very ad hoc service I'm offering. We're also available weekends. Availability varies depending on my children's activities and my counselling work but if we agree a regular slot I will block that out for you for reliable continuity.
My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
Currently my fees are £5 per child per hour, subject to change with 4 weeks' notice.
My Local Schools
