About Me

I am a mature childcare worker who offers babysitting services in and around York and Selby. I am a qualified Early Years teacher who has worked with children throughout my career, I managed a private day nursery and have done both full time and ad hoc nannying and have babysat for numerous families over the years . I have always enjoyed interactions with children, having fun, playing games, getting creative, reading and crafting. I’m also an animal lover, so am very happy to work within homes that have pets.

I live on my own with my cat Dexter, I love to catch up with friends and family, enjoying an adventure out for the day or visiting a new part of the country. I love to read, get out and about, I enjoy crafts and creativity or a good board game.

My Experience

I have over 20 years of experience working with children from after school club and holiday club, to becoming a qualified teacher and managing a private day nursery. I have nannied full time for families with children from little babies to to those heading towards the end of primary school. I have assisted many homework sessions, played many games, crafted many crafts and read a whole range of good books.

I have worked with children additional needs, his level medical needs and handled many allergies and different family set ups. I am not easily phased and enjoy working with a family to help out where I can.

My Qualifications

I am a fully qualified teacher, qualified to degree level, Level 6.
I specialised in Early Years and got my Early Years Practitioner rraing on top of my teacher status.
I also completed Special Educational Needs and Disability training.
I have yearly safeguarding and healthy and safety training.
I have a full DBS, up to date first aid training and allergy and asthma training.

My Availability

I am available to babysitting evenings and weekends and have been known to do wedding/hotel babysitting and proxy parenting where needed.
