My Requirements

We are looking for a caring, reliable and experienced nanny to join our family and look after our four-month-old son for three months, until he starts nursery at the end of January 2027.

Our son is a calm, happy and easy-going baby with a well-established daily routine. We are hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys working with babies and can provide a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment while supporting his early development.

(1) Working Hours & Schedule

Our preferred schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00 am–6:00 pm, with a one-hour lunch break during which I can take over childcare, as I work from home.

We would appreciate some flexibility with the schedule:

A. Occasional weekends: From time to time, we may ask you to work on a Saturday or Sunday instead of a weekday, with a corresponding day off during the week.

B. Flexible hours: When I travel for work, we may occasionally need to adjust the hours, for example, to 10:00 am–7:00 pm.

C. Travel opportunities: There may also be opportunities to accompany me and our son on trips within the UK (such as Cambridge or Oxford) or to European destinations, including Paris and Oslo. This would be entirely subject to mutual agreement.

We understand the importance of work-life balance and are happy to discuss arrangements that work well for both sides.

(2) About Our Baby & Your Responsibilities

Our son is bottle-fed, generally very content, and has recently started teething. He enjoys interaction, playtime and exploring the world around him.

We are looking for someone who can:

Attend to his daily needs, including feeding, nappy changes, naps and maintaining his routine.

Engage him in plenty of age-appropriate play, tummy time, movement activities, reading and early developmental exercises.

Encourage his curiosity, sensory development and early communication through interactive activities.

Support his transition to solid foods when he is developmentally ready, following our guidance, which will be after January.

Take him for walks and outdoor activities when appropriate.

Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment, including tidying up after baby-related activities.

We particularly value a nanny who is proactive, attentive and genuinely enthusiastic about supporting a baby's development, rather than simply supervising him.

(3) Ideal Candidate

We would love to hear from candidates who have:

Previous hands-on experience caring for infants, ideally babies under one year old.

Experience working in a nursery or early years setting (highly desirable).

A formal childcare or early years qualification, such as Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years Practitioner, or an equivalent qualification (preferred).

An Enhanced DBS check (Must), a valid paediatric first aid qualification and excellent references (highly desirable).

A patient, gentle, dependable and engaging personality.

Good communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively with parents.

Additional language skills: Fluency in Russian, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese or Cantonese would be a welcome advantage, as we are keen to introduce our son to different languages from an early age. However, this is not essential, and candidates with strong childcare experience are equally encouraged to apply.

(4) About the Position

This is initially a three-month position, until the end of January 2027.

Above all, we are looking for someone we can trust, who will treat our son with warmth and care, and become a positive part of his early life.
