Finn
Nanny in Oxford (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
Hi, I'm Finn! I'm 23 and have just finished my masters in Psychology and Neuroscience (MSci) at the University of Bristol. During my degree, I developed a real interest in child development -- particularly how being a calm, attentive presence and offering patience and genuine support help children feel secure enough to be themselves and thrive. It's something that shapes how I show up with kids day to day, not just something I studied.
I offer full-time nannying, babysitting and school runs, and I bring the same care to a family's daily routine as I would to my own -- whether that's homework, mealtimes, or simply being a steady, familiar presence in a busy household.
Currently, I help run a paddleboarding camp for children aged 9-13. Alongside another instructor, we take groups along the rivers and canals in Oxford, where we play games, explore, and have a great time on the water. It's given me lots of experience keeping a group of children safe, engaged and having fun, while also being a calm and dependable adult they can turn to. I genuinely love this part of the work -- building the kind of trust where a child feels comfortable coming to you, and where a family feels confident leaving them in your care.
My Experience
I tutored a 16 year-old girl with autism for several months, and a 16 year-old with dyslexia for a year and a half. Working closely with them both taught me a huge amount about patience, adapting my approach to how each of them learned best, and understanding the world from their perspective -- experience I carry into all the childcare work I do now.
I've also babysat children aged 5–12 on a few occasions, helping with everything from mealtimes and bedtime routines to keeping them entertained and settled while their parents were out.
Alongside this, I currently help run a paddleboarding summer camp for children aged 9–13. Working with a lead instructor, we take groups on day trips along the rivers and canals in Oxford -- looking after their safety, keeping them engaged, and making sure everyone has a great time on the water.
I've also spent time working within an NHS unit supporting children with psychosis, schizophrenia and autism. While I won't be using this in a clinical sense, it's given me real confidence and calm around children with additional needs or big emotions -- something that's shaped how I approach every child I care for.
Across all of these experiences, what's stayed consistent is how much I enjoy getting to know each child as an individual, and adapting to what actually helps them feel safe, supported, and able to be themselves.
