About Me

We are a friendly family based in Hampton, looking for a warm, calm and highly responsible live-out nanny for our 10-month-old daughter. Both parents work from home and will normally be in the house throughout the day. However, during the nanny’s working hours, the nanny will have primary responsibility for our daughter and we will not normally interrupt or take over. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working while the parents are nearby, can maintain clear professional boundaries and can calmly redirect and settle the child if she wants to see Mum or Dad. We hope to find someone who will stay with our family on a long-term basis, ideally for the next three to five years.

My Requirements

Live Out Nanny

We are considering either a full-time arrangement of approximately 50 hours per week or a part-time arrangement of approximately 25 hours per week. Substantial hands-on experience caring for babies aged between six and twelve months is essential. We are looking for a nanny with a stable employment history, ideally with most previous family positions lasting at least one to two years. We must be able to speak directly with at least two former employing families before making an offer.

The nanny must have a clear practical understanding of infant safety, including safe sleep, feeding and choking risks, bathing, falls and age-appropriate supervision. Practical first-aid knowledge is essential, and a current paediatric first-aid certificate would be an advantage. The candidate must not currently work in a nursery, school, playgroup or other group childcare setting. Work for another private family may be acceptable where the schedules are compatible.

Responsibilities will include full care of the baby, feeding, naps, walks, age-appropriate play and developmental activities, as well as child-related meal preparation, laundry and tidying. An enhanced DBS certificate and the right to work in the UK are required. A paid trial of one or two working days is an essential part of the selection process, as we will carefully observe how comfortable our daughter is with the prospective nanny.
