About Me
We are a warm, friendly and respectful international family living in Battersea Power Station with our two young children (aged 2 and 4). We are looking for a kind, organised and proactive Family Assistant to help our home run smoothly during the busiest part of the day.
My wife is half Japanese and half Chinese, and I am German. We are both professionals and value kindness, reliability, clear communication and mutual respect. We hope to find someone who enjoys becoming a trusted, long-term part of our family life.
Our apartment is located just a few minutes’ walk from both Battersea Power Station Underground station (Northern Line) and Battersea Park station, making it an easy commute from many parts of London.
My Requirements
Hours
* Monday to Friday
* 4:00pm – 8:00pm (20 hours per week)
* Start: September 2026
* Additional hours may occasionally be available by mutual agreement
The role
This is a long-term role for someone who enjoys supporting family life rather than providing sole childcare.
Responsibilities will vary depending on what the family needs each day and may include:
* Helping with the children’s evening routine while parents are home
* Playing with or supervising the children for short periods while parents prepare dinner or finish work
* Preparing simple, healthy family meals
* Keeping the kitchen clean and organised
* Laundry, ironing and putting clothes away
* General tidying and maintaining an organised home
* Changing beds and light housekeeping
* Loading/unloading the dishwasher, taking out bins and other daily household tasks
* Grocery shopping or occasional errands if required
* Helping prepare for the following day (school bags, nursery items, uniforms, etc.)
This is not a sole-charge nanny position. Parents are usually at home and actively involved with the children. We are looking for someone who enjoys being an extra pair of hands and helping everything run smoothly.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
* Warm, kind and dependable
* Proactive and able to work independently
* Experienced working in private households and/or with young families
* Comfortable around young children
* Happy to cook simple, healthy meals
* Organised with excellent attention to detail
* Looking for a long-term position
* Able to provide excellent references
A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred.
Japanese, Mandarin or German language skills would be a bonus, but are by no means essential.
