About Me
My name is Rebecca and my husband Thomas and I are looking for a nanny for 12 months to cover our current baby who will be heading off on maternity leave in September. We both work full time and have two children who are aged 4 and almost 2
My Requirements
Job title: Fixed term contract live-out nanny (12 months – maternity cover) for a family with a 4 year old girl and a 1 (nearly 2) year old boy.
Location: Burghfield Common, West Berkshire,
Days and hours of engagement: 4 days a week, two days starting at 7am and finishing at 5.30pm and two days starting at 8.30am and finishing at 5pm. Shorter and longer days to be flexible and confirmed the week before. Potential for occasional overtime and short days on Fridays, based on work requirements and to be agreed with the nanny as necessary.
Total hours per week: 38
Start date: September 2026
Candidates gross salary: TBD dependent on experience
The role is sole charge care for both children during work hours, both parents will be working. The 3 year old starts reception in September so the role includes drop off and pick up for her, as well as looking after her during all school holidays. The 1 year old is not yet in pre-school so full time care required, including changing nappies and settling for naps. An interest in food is helpful as the role requires preparing nutritious and healthy food for the children both at mealtimes and daytime snacks, as well as some meal prep when required. Crucially the role requires engaging with both children in interactive play, educational activities, and outdoor outings with their friends. We like the home to be a relaxed and fun environment where the children are encouraged to be themselves and play. They also love being out and about so trips are very much encouraged.
Housekeeping duties are restricted to keeping the children’s play area and bedrooms tidy, doing the children’s laundry, and changing their beds on a weekly basis.
We do have a friendly cocker spaniel. Whilst he does have a walker, there may be an occasional requirement to take him for a walk.
Other requirements: a clean driving licence and references
