About Me
Hi, I’m Lisa, the childminder behind Little Roots Childminding in Barassie, Troon. I provide a warm, safe and nurturing home-from-home environment where children feel valued, secure and encouraged to learn through play. My aim is to help every child grow in confidence, develop independence and enjoy new experiences while having fun every day.
I care for children from 0–6 years, offering a calm, caring setting with plenty of age-appropriate activities, outdoor play, crafts, stories, messy play, baking, sensory experiences and opportunities to explore the world around them. Healthy meals and snacks are included, and I work closely with parents to ensure every child receives the individual care and support they need.
I offer:
* Full-day childcare
* Half-day sessions
* Before and after school wraparound care for Struthers Primary School
* Monday to Thursday (term time), with ad hoc holiday cover available
* Registered with the Care Inspectorate and PVG Checked

My Experience
As a mum to my own 2-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son, I have hands-on, real-life experience caring for young children through every stage of their early development. From supporting speech and language, toilet training and establishing routines, to encouraging independence, emotional wellbeing and learning through play, I’ve experienced the joys and challenges of helping little ones grow every day.
Caring for my own children has given me a strong understanding of creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children feel happy, secure and confident to explore. I understand how important it is for parents to know their child is cared for with patience, kindness and genuine attention, and I aim to provide the same loving, home-from-home environment that I would want for my own children.
Every day is filled with fun, learning and adventure through crafts, sensory play, outdoor activities, stories, baking and imaginative play, helping children build confidence, develop new skills and create happy memories.

Trained and registered with the SCMA.
Trained in first aid and safeguarding.
