About Me
A bit of background about me is I am a young carer and come from a large family with 4 siblings that have many different support needs, from autism, PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), learning difficulties, slight mobility issues, suspected ADHD and selective mutism. I have dyslexia, undiagnosed ADHD and am going through the process for a tic/Tourette’s diagnosis, so I have experience with a few different types. My goal is to work with children with additional support needs and help them get the best out of their learning and give them the best start in life.
My Experience
Through my early years placement while studying, I developed strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills while supporting children's learning and wellbeing in a safe, nurturing environment.
Running my own outdoor games group for home-educated children strengthened my leadership, planning, and group management skills. I organised engaging activities, adapted them to meet individual needs, and built positive relationships with children and their families.
My Qualifications
I have been studying childcare for 4 years and recently finished my HNC in Childhood Practice. This has given me valuable knowledge of child development, child development theories, children’s rights, safeguarding, play-based learning, forest school, first aid and inclusive practice.
