My Requirements

We are an English family of four, with two boys aged 4.5 and 2.5, soon to be five with a new baby due in February 2027. We have recently returned home to Notting Hill after three and a half years living in New York.

We are looking for a live-out nanny five days a week. The core hours would be 12–6.30pm each day, but for the right person we would also be very happy to offer longer days, for example 8am–6.30pm a few days a week, if they were interested in a broader nanny/housekeeper role and helping with family life while the boys are at school.

A and G are two very loving, energetic young boys who love being outdoors, running around, exploring and going on adventures. They also love reading, arts and crafts and helping to cook.

With a new baby arriving in February, we would love to find someone who is comfortable with children of different ages and who would enjoy becoming part of our growing family. Initially, the role will focus primarily on the two boys, and we would make sure there is a supportive and well-planned transition when the baby arrives. From Feb 2027 to Sept 2027 I will be on maternity leave so the role will become more of a mother’s help (though we would like the same hours to be maintained).

Until then, both of us work full time, so a typical day would involve picking up our 2.5-year-old from Montessori at 12pm and walking home, which is only 5–10 minutes away. After lunch, he will usually have a short nap or some quiet time before picking up our 4.5-year-old from school at 3.30pm. Afternoons might involve the playground, activities, play dates or simply running around outside, followed by supper and bath time at home.

We are a relaxed, happy and affectionate family, but we also believe in routine and firm boundaries. We want the boys to grow up kind, confident and well mannered, while having lots of fun along the way.

The most important thing for us is finding someone loving and fun who the boys will be genuinely excited to see every day. Because we both work full time, we need someone we can completely trust to be our eyes, ears and heart when we are not there.

Our ideal nanny has lots of energy, is warm, outdoorsy and active, and is always up for an adventure. At the same time, we are looking for someone confident setting boundaries and encouraging good behaviour.

We would also love someone who enjoys cooking and is happy preparing healthy, varied meals for the children.

Travel is not essential, but there will be opportunities to travel with us during school holidays if that is of interest.

Ultimately, we are hoping to find someone who will become an important and trusted part of our family for the long term.
