About Me
My husband and I are seeking a nurturing nanny 4 days a week (Mon-Thurs) for our very alert and happy baby boy starting in November, when he’ll be 6 months old. Nanny must have at least three years experience looking after young babies and be able to supply several references.
We live in the heart of Bermondsey, under 10 mins walk from Bermondsey Street and Bermondsey Station, and 15 mins walk from Southwark Park and London Bridge Station.
I have to go back to work at six months, but will be working from home 3 days a week, so will be around the home a lot for a smooth transition for our little one.
My Requirements
Nanny essentials:
We’re looking for a warm, creative, and playful nanny to look after our smiley 6 month year from Monday through Thursday. We are looking for someone with at least three years experience caring for young babies as either a nanny or working in a nursery. We require them to have a full DBS check, up to date first aid qualifications, and Early Years Level 2-3 qualifications a big plus.
We'd love to find someone who creates a loving, joyful and safe environment for our child and who is also interested in fostering cognitive and emotional development. Someone who likes to create montessori style activities and sensory play at home. We'd love for our child to be taken outside everyday, (weather depending), and as we are lucky to be in walking distance of great childcare centres and libraries would also encourage our nanny to take our child out to classes (free and potentially budget for some paid ones) in the local area.
Our son is currently exclusively breastfed but takes the bottle so we’d like our nanny to feed expressed breast milk and then help with the weaning process, preparing homemade foods to introduce solids with us.
Housework:
We require help with baby related house work (sterilising bottles, preparing solid foods, baby laundry). Support with general housework would be great too (~2 hours a week), ideally laundry and cooking, if you're a keen cook, but this is not necessary.
Hours:
9am to 6pm, Monday-Thursday, from 2nd November. This would allow one full week of overlap while I am on my last week of maternity leave before I return to work on 9th November.
Will be chance to pick up extra evening hours now and then if we both have a work event, and also the odd Fri/Sat evenings - nice to have our nanny do that if possible, rather than a babysitter.
Interview process and hiring:
After an initial phone call, I'll be arranging in-person interviews, and then a trial day to make sure we’re all a good fit for each other.
We can become PAYE registered for full employment for the right candidate, but are also open to nannies who would prefer to be self-employed.
