My Requirements

I am looking for a patient, kind, and experienced tutor with a background in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly autism and learning disabilities.

My son, Yusuf, is 5 years old and is autistic with a learning disability. He is a happy child who learns best through structured, engaging, and play-based activities at his own pace.

I am looking for someone to help him develop his early learning skills, including:

* Counting (starting with numbers 1–3 and progressing to 1–5)
* Number recognition
* Colours
* Shapes
* Matching and sorting
* Other basic early years maths and learning skills

Because of Yusuf’s additional needs, his attention span can be limited, so I am looking for someone who is patient, understanding, and able to adapt activities to keep him engaged. The ideal tutor will be flexible, follow his pace, and use positive encouragement rather than expecting him to sit and concentrate for long periods.

Experience working with autistic children, using visual supports or PECS, and adapting teaching to suit individual learning needs would be highly valued. Above all, I am looking for someone who can build a trusting relationship with Yusuf and make learning enjoyable and rewarding.

My preference is for the sessions to take place at the tutor’s home rather than at our home, if possible.
