About Me
My son is 7 years old and has been diagnosed with autism. He is homeschooled due to sensory difficulties and masking challenges that made a traditional school environment unsuitable for his needs. I'm a registered counsellor and am starting a volunteer position on Tuesdays. We're looking for childcare and tutoring support away from home, ideally with a provider who has experience supporting children with autism.
My Requirements
My son struggles with change and noisy environments. He has sensory difficulties around noise, certain foods and clothing tags, and masks when uncomfortable. He is very well behaved and listens to adults. He takes things very literally and doesn't always understand jokes, although he has a brilliant sense of humour. He is quick to learn and enjoys chatting with adults about his interests. We're looking for tutoring in English and maths, with other subjects welcome if available.
