My Summary

My Experience

I have worked as a Supply Teaching Assistant in primary, nursery, mainstream and specialist SEND settings. Most recently, I provided consistent one-to-one support for a Year 2 pupil with communication, literacy, emotional-regulation and sensory needs.

My experience includes supporting children with autism, communication difficulties, sensory needs, physical disabilities, complex needs and profound and multiple learning disabilities. I have used visual timetables, Makaton, symbol-based resources, AAC technology, sensory activities and positive behaviour-support strategies.

I can support reading, phonics, handwriting, communication, play, emotional regulation, transitions and independence. I also have experience assisting with toileting, hygiene, mealtimes and personal-care routines under established safeguarding procedures.

In addition, I have supervised children and young people aged 8–16 during residential summer programmes, activities and excursions. I have also supported nursery children, family activities, sensory-play sessions and arts-and-crafts workshops.

I remain calm when a child is anxious or distressed, follow family routines carefully and communicate relevant information clearly to parents and carers.

My Qualifications

I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate for the Child and Adult Workforce. I also hold a Paediatric First Aid certificate from St John Ambulance, valid until 23 July 2028.

I have completed a Teaching Assistant Level 2 course with Merit, Advanced Safeguarding training, Introduction to SEND training and Promoting Positive Behaviour in the Classroom.

I have completed Makaton Workshops Levels 1 and 2 and Speech and Language UK’s Introduction to Speech, Language and Communication course. I previously completed a Level 1 British Sign Language course and am currently continuing my BSL learning through a CPD-certified course.

My academic qualifications include a BA (Hons) in Creative Studies (2:1) and an MA in Illustration and Animation with Merit. My creative background helps me plan engaging arts, crafts, drawing and storytelling activities for children.

I am enrolled to begin an MSc in Speech and Language Therapy (Pre-Registration) at the University of Essex in October 2026.

Alongside my qualifications, I have extensive practical experience as a Teaching Assistant and one-to-one SEND support worker in primary, nursery and specialist education settings. My experience includes safeguarding, emotional regulation, sensory support, phonics, early literacy, positive behaviour support, Makaton, visual resources and AAC communication technology.

My Availability

I am available immediately for full-time or part-time childcare throughout the summer holidays until the end of August 2026.

I can provide daytime, evening and weekend babysitting, subject to location and public transport. I am flexible with hours and may also be available at short notice.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £13.00 per hour

My standard babysitting rate starts from £13 per hour for one child.

The final rate may vary depending on the number and ages of the children, the hours required, additional responsibilities, travel arrangements and the level of individual or special-needs support required.
