About Me

Our son is 3 years old. He is a happy loving little boy who loves music, singing and dancing. He has global development delay, mostly manifesting in speech and communication delay. He does also need a little extra help with gross motor skills, e.g he needs to hold a hand whilst walking up stairs. He will be starting formal assessments end of August to see if it is just a delay or if he falls on the spectrum somewhere.

We have a new baby on the way end of October. She will be born via C-Section. My husband is starting a new job around the same time so will not be available to help.

My Requirements

Live Out Nanny

We are looking for a live out nanny to support our family.

Ideal hours are 8am- 7pm. My son will be at nursery from 8.15-12.15 every day. In the morning, the nanny will be responsible for supporting me with the newborn baby and helping my recovery through the c-section. Duties could involve looking after the newborn whilst I rest, helping wash/sterilise bottles, meal prep for my son or light housework/laundry.

When he comes home from nursery, it will be the nanny’s responsibility to help me with his lunch and then as a joint team work to look after my 3 year old and the new baby, ensuring my son feels like he still has ‘mummy time’.

As my son has additional needs, he sees a speech therapist once a week and an occupational therapist. The nanny’s role will be to attend this sessions alongside me and ensure tasks and guidance from the therapist is carried over in his play.

The ideal candidate would be:
- A self-starter - someone who can use their initiative to carry out jobs and tasks without needing to be managed, especially in the early days during mums recovery.
- Ideally have some experience with SEN children, most importantly in the following areas:
•Speech delay - be confident in modelling language to help boost communication
•Sensory processing differences - experience in applying OT therapies at home such as deep pressure massage and heavy work
•Feeding challenges - having the patience and understanding around picky eating and a lack of feeding independence
- If SEN experience is missing, at least someone with the kindness and compassion to understand how my son interacts with people and the world around him
- Newborn experience and confident in implementing routines when required
- Understanding of the importance of keeping a tidy home
- Have a full UK driving licence as plus, but a car is not necessary (we can insure you on ours)
- Confident working as a team with mum, as I will be in all day. Happy to take my son to clubs/appointments where needed, but equally to go as a collective.
- Confident in the kitchen for children’s meal prep
- Willing to travel if required
- Open to additional paid baby sitting hours
