About Me
Hi, I’m Lyla! I’m a friendly, caring and reliable person who genuinely enjoys spending time with children. I have experience working in a nursery across all rooms and have worked with children of different ages and stages of development. I’m currently completing my Early Years apprenticeship, which has given me lots of practical experience supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
Outside of work, I’m very family-oriented and love spending time with my three younger siblings and six younger cousins, who I’m very close to. I also enjoy reading, being creative, spending time with friends and having monthly board game nights.
I’m patient, approachable and always try to create a fun and comfortable environment where children feel safe, listened to and encouraged to be themselves. I enjoy planning activities around children’s interests, whether that’s getting creative, reading stories, playing games or exploring outdoors.
I understand that leaving your child with someone new can feel like a big step, so I’m committed to being someone both children and parents can feel comfortable and confident around. I’m happy to work with each family’s individual routines, preferences and needs, and I’m always willing to learn and adapt.
My Experience
I have gained a lot of hands-on childcare experience through my work in a nursery, where I have worked across all rooms and cared for children of different ages and stages of development. I have supported children with their daily routines, meals, personal care, sleep routines, play and learning, while helping to create a safe, happy and welcoming environment.
Through my Early Years apprenticeship, I have developed a good understanding of children’s development and how to support their individual needs and interests. I have experience planning and supporting activities, observing children, encouraging their independence and helping them build confidence and new skills.
I also have lots of experience caring for children within my own family. I have three younger siblings and six younger cousins who I spend a lot of time with, so I’m comfortable entertaining children, helping with routines and adapting to different personalities and ages.
I’m reliable, patient and responsible, and I understand how important it is for parents to have someone they can trust. I’m always happy to follow a family’s routines and preferences and make sure children feel safe, comfortable and cared for while they are with me.
My Qualifications
I am currently completing my Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship, which I am expecting to complete by September 2026. Through my training, I have developed a strong understanding of childcare, child development, safeguarding and supporting children’s individual needs.
I also have a Level 2 Functional Skills qualification in English and a Level 2 qualification in Art and Design. My Art and Design qualification has also helped me develop my creativity, which I enjoy bringing into activities with children through crafts, drawing and imaginative play.
My Early Years training has given me practical knowledge and experience in areas including the EYFS, safeguarding, supporting children’s development, inclusive practice and creating safe, stimulating and welcoming environments for children.
