About Me

Hi! I’m Emily, and I’m a friendly, responsible and experienced babysitter who genuinely enjoys working with children.

I’ve had experience caring for children of a range of ages and abilities, including children with SEN. Working with children with additional needs has been a particularly valuable part of my experience, as it’s taught me to be patient, adaptable and calm, even when things don’t quite go to plan. I’m comfortable supporting children who may communicate, behave or respond to situations differently, and I’m confident thinking on my feet and finding an approach that works for them.

I really enjoy being involved with children rather than simply supervising them. I’m happy getting stuck into whatever they’re interested in — whether that’s playing outside, getting creative, building Lego, playing games, reading, or coming up with something completely spontaneous. I think some of the best parts of childcare are the little moments where you end up having far more fun than you expected!
I’m also confident taking responsibility for routines and boundaries. I’m happy to prepare meals, help with bath and bedtime, keep on top of routines and make sure things are done in the way your family normally does them. I understand that every family is different, and I’m always happy to work around what suits you and your children.

Alongside babysitting, I’m also a full-time Year 5 teacher, so working with children is very much part of my everyday life! I’m used to managing different personalities, keeping children engaged, handling the unexpected and, most importantly, making sure children feel supported while having fun. So if you’re looking to sneak in a little learning while you’re out, I’m more than happy to help with reading, homework or anything else they might need a hand with.

Most importantly, I want parents to feel completely comfortable and confident while their children are in my care. I’m reliable, attentive and proactive, and I’ll always take my responsibility seriously while making sure the children are having a genuinely fun time.
Outside of childcare and teaching, I enjoy baking, so when I’m not working you’ll usually find me in the kitchen causing delicious chaos!
