Hi, I’m Emileigh
I’m a single mum to my little boy, Hunter, who is 5 (very nearly 6!), and in September I’ll be starting university to train as a midwife.
Starting university is a huge step for me and something I’ve worked really hard towards. Because midwifery involves a mixture of university study and clinical placements, I’m looking for a childminder who can hopefully become a reliable and familiar part of our routine.
Hunter is a happy, energetic and sociable little boy. He loves being active, playing outside, exploring, being creative and generally keeping busy! He’s used to me having a busy schedule and is normally very adaptable once he feels comfortable and settled with someone.
For me, finding the right childcare isn’t just about having someone available while I’m at university or placement. I’d really like Hunter to be with someone who he feels safe, happy and relaxed around, and who I can build a good, open and trusting relationship with too.
My university course will mean that my childcare needs may vary, particularly when I’m on placement, so flexibility would be a huge help. I completely understand that every childminder has their own working hours and commitments, so I’m happy to have an open conversation about what could realistically work for both of us.
We’re a friendly little team, and I’d love to find someone who can become a consistent and positive part of Hunter’s routine while I take this next step towards becoming a midwife.

My Requirements
I’m looking for reliable childcare to support me while I complete my Midwifery degree.
As my course will include both university days and clinical placements, my childcare needs may vary depending on my timetable and placement shifts.
Ideally, I’m looking for someone who can offer:
* Before and/or after-school care, including school drop-offs and collections where possible.
* Early morning starts on some placement days.
* Later finishes when required for placement shifts.
* Some flexibility around my university and placement timetable.
* School holiday childcare where available.
* A reliable and consistent arrangement so Hunter can feel settled and comfortable.
* Good communication, as I will always aim to provide my timetable and childcare requirements as far in advance as possible.
I completely understand that not every childminder will be able to accommodate all of these requirements, particularly around placement shifts. I’m very happy to discuss what you can offer and hopefully find an arrangement that works well for everyone
