About Me
Hello! My name is Sofia and I am a first year university student studying law at the University of Glasgow. I have just moved from Brighton where I enjoyed lots of music and drama, such as recently gaining my Grade 8 LAMDA where I achieved a distinction and was also awarded a Drama Scholarship at my secondary school. Moreover, I adore being outdoors, whether that is going on a walk in nature, a swim in the sea or a stroll around town. With the children I currently look after we love coming up with games, trips to the park, doing art and making up and putting on plays. Being an older sister has also meant that I love to cook and spend time with my younger siblings.
My Experience
I have always loved working with children, my childcare experience properly started when I was 15 and started babysitting. I regularly babysit for approximately 10 different families, with ages ranging from 4-13 and the largest family having 4 children. Following this I have worked in a nursery for the past 18 months with children from the age ranges of 8 months-5 years. In addition to this, I work at a holiday club with older children (6-11) and have ran 'Drama' days where I help children write and put on a plays, therefore I love creating and doing activities! Although I have 3 years of formal childcare experience, being the eldest of three children (youngest is currently 10) my babysitting, dinner-cooking, school pick-up and playing experience dates back much further.
My Qualifications
I have safeguarding training and food safety training. I also have 9 GCSEs, where I got 3 9s, 5 8s and 1 7. I have just completed my Alevels, where I received AABB.
