My Summary
About Me
I am a warm, caring and nurturing Early Years professional with a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Early Years Education with Child Psychology. I am passionate about supporting young children as they learn, grow and develop their confidence, independence and individual personalities. I have plenty of energy, enthusiasm and inspiration to bring into children's everyday experiences, and I enjoy creating a stimulating environment where children are encouraged to be curious, creative and excited about learning.
I have an in-depth knowledge of culture, languages, travel, books and the world around us. I am widely travelled and have a genuine curiosity about different cultures, places and experiences. I love bringing this enthusiasm and knowledge to life through conversations, stories, creative activities and everyday experiences with children. I speak English, Spanish and Croatian fluently, as well as conversational Italian, and I enjoy creating an environment where different languages and cultures are welcomed and celebrated.
I am particularly passionate about sport, movement and gymnastics and love giving children plenty of opportunities to be active, develop their coordination, balance, strength and physical confidence. I enjoy combining movement, outdoor play, creativity, exploration and hands-on experiences to make learning engaging and enjoyable. My approach is inspired by EYFS, play-based learning and Montessori principles, while allowing each child to develop at their own pace, follow their interests and build confidence in their own abilities.
I am fortunate to provide childcare from a fantastic, spacious home with dedicated areas designed specifically for children. My large double living room has been transformed into a spacious open-plan playroom, providing plenty of room for children to play, explore, create and learn. I also have a separate large room dedicated to children's sleep and rest, as well as movement and gymnastics, with plenty of age-appropriate equipment to encourage physical development and active play. The setting also benefits from both a front garden and a landscaped back garden, providing additional opportunities for outdoor play, exploration and fresh air.
I aim to provide a calm, happy and stimulating home-from-home environment where children feel comfortable being themselves, develop a love of learning and have plenty of opportunities to explore, discover and enjoy new experiences.
My Experience
After graduating from university, I began my professional career working in Early Years Education and Child Psychology. I also hold business qualifications, which later led me to develop my career as an Executive Assistant and Business Support professional, working across a range of corporate environments, including finance, medical and scientific fields.
Most recently, I worked as an Executive Assistant within one of the most successful schools in the UK private education sector, supporting the Head of School and the senior leadership team. Being back within an educational environment inspired me to establish my own early years setting. I have now brought together my academic knowledge, professional experience and genuine joy of working with children.
During my time working within the private education sector, I undertook extensive and up-to-date professional training relevant to teaching, children and education, covering a wide range of areas. This included training in safeguarding and child protection, Prevent Duty, SEND and inclusion, child development, children's wellbeing and mental health, online safety, safer recruitment and professional responsibilities, alongside other current training relevant to working within an educational setting.
My extensive corporate background has equipped me with valuable skills that I bring into my childcare setting, including agility, resourcefulness, organisation, multitasking, problem-solving and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. These skills are particularly valuable when caring for young children, where every day can be different and where flexibility, patience and a positive approach are so important.
I am also a mum of two older children, and throughout their childhood I invested a great deal of time, energy and dedication in creating a happy, stimulating and enriching family life, while also working full-time. We enjoyed sharing books and stories, singing, staying active, visiting parks, exploring different places and travelling extensively together. I have always valued giving children a rich range of experiences and opportunities to discover the world around them, develop confidence and enjoy learning through everyday life.
I am delighted to have returned to my passion for Early Years Education, bringing together my original professional qualification, extensive corporate experience, knowledge of education and the many skills I have developed throughout my career and as a parent. My aim is to provide children with a nurturing, stimulating and enriching environment where they can feel secure, develop their individual strengths and enjoy their early years to the fullest.
