Abby
Babysitter in Southport
My Summary
About Me
I’m Abby! I’m a qualified primary school teacher with around 10 years’ experience working with children, mainly across Early Years and Key Stage 1.
I’m friendly, caring, patient and reliable, and I genuinely love working with children. Through teaching, I’ve worked with lots of different ages, personalities and needs, and I currently work within a specialist SEND provision, so I’m also very comfortable supporting children with additional communication, sensory or developmental needs.
I love keeping children busy and having fun, whether that’s crafts, games, stories, imaginative play or getting outdoors. I’m also more than happy to help with homework and reading, mealtimes, bath time and bedtime routines.
As a teacher, safeguarding and children’s wellbeing are a huge part of my everyday role, and I understand how important it is for parents to feel completely comfortable with whoever is looking after their children. I’m responsible, trustworthy and always happy to follow each family’s own routines and boundaries.
I’m currently looking for occasional babysitting or nannying work during the school holidays, as I’m unavailable during term time.
My Experience
I am an experienced primary school teacher with 10 years of experience working with children, particularly across the Early Years and Key Stage 1 age range. I have worked with children from nursery age upwards and have extensive experience supporting children with a wide range of personalities, needs and abilities.
I currently work within a special educational needs (SEND) provision, supporting young children with additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties and sensory needs. This has given me lots of experience with individual routines, emotional regulation, communication support and providing calm, patient and attentive care.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked in Nursery, Reception and Year 1, including leading a large nursery team. I am confident caring for children independently, keeping them safe and entertained, preparing simple meals and snacks, helping with bedtime and daily routines, and planning age-appropriate activities, crafts, games and outdoor play.
I am paediatric first-aid trained and, as a teacher, safeguarding and children’s wellbeing are central to my everyday role. I’m friendly, reliable and caring, while also being confident with boundaries and routines. I understand that every family does things differently and I’m very happy to follow parents’ routines and preferences so that children feel comfortable and secure in my care.
