About Me
I am a 3rd year Psychology student based in the West End of Glasgow. I really love working with children and young people and have been volunteering and working with kids for around 4 years now. I am very artsy and creative and love doing craft projects with the young people I work with. I am fairly active and enjoy spending time outside. I'm also quite musical, and love to play the violin in my spare time. I have very strong communication skills with children and young people with a range of communication differences, and really enjoy working with young people with Autism and other additional support needs.
My Experience
I have experience working and volunteering as a Pupil Support Assistant in the mainstream and ASN departments of primary schools. I have worked with children with a range of additional support needs such as Autism and PDA, and ADHD. I have experience working with children with communication differences and have knowledge of basic Makaton symbols and experience with using digital and manual PODDs. I also have experience working as a residential care worker for young people with complex additional support needs, and through this have experience with personal care and food preparation. Furthermore, I have experience working in an Afterschool Club setting where I helped lead outdoor play activities and craft activities. I am fluent in Scottish Gaidhlig and have studied German to university level. I am confident in assisting children with schoolwork/homework cross a range of subjects.
My Qualifications
As a residential support worker I took part in training regarding trauma-informed practice and Positive Behaviour Support. I also took part in basic online training regarding safeguarding practices and food safety.
My Availability
I am completely free on the weekends, however my availability throughout the week may fluctuate due to lecture times.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
I would usually chrage £12 but am open to some level of flexibility.
