My Summary
About Me
I am a caring, responsible and passionate childcare professional with two years of experience as a Nursery Practitioner. I have experience caring for children of different ages and abilities and understand the importance of providing a safe, happy and supportive environment where children feel comfortable and confident.
Through my nursery experience, I have developed strong skills in meeting children’s individual needs and adapting my approach depending on their personality, interests and development. I have experience supporting children with additional needs and following individual support plans to ensure they receive the appropriate care and support. I am very adaptable and understand that every child is different.
I enjoy creating positive and engaging experiences for children through play, activities, conversations and following their interests. I use high-quality interactions to support children’s language, communication and confidence, while encouraging them to explore, think and learn through everyday experiences. I can adapt activities to suit different ages and abilities and am happy to provide one-to-one attention when children need additional support.
Children’s safety is one of my highest priorities. I have Paediatric First Aid training and use this knowledge within my everyday childcare practice. I understand the importance of safe sleep, choking hazards, appropriate supervision, hygiene and creating a safe environment for children. I also hold a Food and Hygiene certificate and have experience safely preparing and handling children’s food, including carrying out temperature checks and following procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
I have experience using visual timetables, now-and-next boards and other visual aids to support children who benefit from clear routines and structure. I can use these strategies within babysitting to help children understand what is happening next, particularly when transitioning between activities, mealtimes, bath time and bedtime.
I have developed strong positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues throughout my childcare experience. I understand how important it is for parents and carers to feel confident that their children are safe, happy and well cared for. I communicate openly with parents and am happy to provide updates about their child’s day, including meals, activities, behaviour, sleep and anything else they may need to know.
I am reliable, patient, enthusiastic and approachable. I genuinely enjoy working with children and take pride in providing high-quality care. I am confident managing different behaviours and situations calmly and positively, while maintaining clear boundaries and routines.
My nursery experience has given me a wide range of transferable childcare skills, including safeguarding, first aid, behaviour management, supporting additional needs, preparing food, maintaining routines, communication and providing engaging activities. I would bring the same level of care, responsibility and professionalism to every babysitting job while making sure children feel happy, comfortable and cared for.
