About Me
Hello, my names April Sweeting and i am an 18 year old girl. I’m a caring, friendly, fun and responsible person who genuinely loves being around children. I’m naturally quite a patient person and I always try to make the children I’m around feel comfortable, happy and listened to.
I particularly love working with younger children and would ideally like to care for children under 5. I love seeing their personalities develop, helping them learn new things and making everyday activities fun. I enjoy getting creative with games and activities and, whenever possible, I’d much rather get children outside and enjoying themselves than have them stuck indoors all day.
I’m very active myself and love playing sports, going for walks and spending time outdoors, so I’d be more than happy to take children out for walks, play games, visit the park or simply explore outside together. I think fresh air and being active are such an important part of a child’s day.
I’m a very down-to-earth person and I want parents to feel completely comfortable leaving their children with me. I understand that every child is different and I’d always take the time to get to know their personality, interests and routine. My main priority would always be making sure they feel safe, cared for and, most importantly, have lots of fun!
My Experience
Although I haven’t worked professionally in childcare yet, I have lots of experience with younger children in my family. I have several younger cousins, including children under 5, and I’ve always loved spending time with them. Both of my aunts have encouraged me to consider childcare because children seem to naturally warm to me and I’ve always been good at keeping them entertained and making them feel comfortable.
I’ve recently finished my Level 3 T-Level in Agriculture (Livestock) course at college which has given me a huge amount of practical responsibility and has taught me to be hardworking, reliable, patient and resilient. I’ve had to care for animals every day, follow routines carefully and pay close attention to their individual needs, which I feel has given me many qualities that are just as important when caring for children.
My Qualifications
I have recently completed a Level 3 T-Level in Agriculture (Livestock). The course involved both college-based study and practical industry experience, giving me strong skills in responsibility, organisation, health and safety, animal care and following procedures. But i am now just wanting a little side whilst i decide what id like to do in the future.
While I don’t currently hold a formal childcare qualification, I’m keen to develop my experience and undertake relevant childcare training as I progress.
My Availability
I’m very flexible with my availability and am happy to discuss days and times that work best for each family. I’m open to regular or occasional childcare and can be flexible around the needs of the family.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
My standard rate is £12 per hour. I’m happy to discuss this with parents depending on the number of children, the type of childcare required and the hours involved. I’m always happy to have a chat beforehand and agree something that works well for everyone.
