Private Tutor in London
My Summary
About Me
I am a fully qualified secondary mathematics teacher (PGCE & QTS) and former Head of Mathematics offering structured, engaging one-to-one tuition for 11+ Non-Verbal Reasoning, Key Stage 3, and GCSE / IGCSE students across all major exam boards.
My tutoring focuses on building core confidence, eliminating maths anxiety, and developing genuine problem-solving and spatial reasoning skills. By using visual methods (dual coding) and breaking complex multi-step questions into clear, manageable steps, I help pupils truly understand concepts rather than just memorising rules. Whether your child is preparing for 11+ entrance exams, needs targeted support to bridge learning gaps, or requires stretching for top GCSE grades (8/9), lessons are entirely tailored to their pace, goals, and learning style.
My Experience
I have 14 years of experience across secondary classroom teaching, departmental leadership, and digital curriculum design. After qualifying through the Teach First Leadership Development Programme in 2012, I spent five years as Numeracy Lead at a London secondary school before serving as Head of Mathematics at Willowfield School, where I led curriculum reform and drove significant GCSE attainment gains.
I subsequently spent eight years as Maths Lead at CENTURY Tech, personally authoring hundreds of diagnostic assessments and lessons across 11+ Non-Verbal Reasoning, Key Stage 3, and all GCSE specifications. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked extensively with neurodiverse learners (including students with ADHD) and pupils who struggle with confidence in maths, using patient, structured, and low-distraction methods to help them make meaningful progress.
