About Me

I'm currently pre-registering to become a childminder, and hope to be registered by latest March 2027. I'll be offering a home-from-home setting with a strong focus on outdoor and experiential learning — play-based and child-led, in the forest school tradition. I love working with children and have been working in education and outdoor learning in some form since I graduated in 2012.

We have a lovely indoor space for when the weather is inclement and for doing crafts and cookery. We will spend most of our times outdoors in the large garden with lots of space for planting, nature exploration, digging, building, outdoor cookery and craft. We will also have direct access to Caldbeck Common for exploring.

This is a small setting with lots of attention and time spent with the children and flexibility throughout the day for the children to follow their interests. Just putting this out there to see if there's any interest — let me know if it sounds like it might be a good fit for your family.

My Experience

I am a qualified Teacher and have worked for around 10 years in lots of different educational settings, mostly related to working in SEND. I stopped teaching when I had my kids and have always loved the freedom of the EYFS curriculum and so starting childminding seems like a great fit! I have been running my own outdoor learning business since 2023 and currently run small outdoor holiday clubs for 3-7 year olds.

I have lots of experience working with children with SEND and would warmly welcome children with additional needs to my setting. I also welcome children who are home-educated or flexi-schooled.

My Qualifications

- Degree, PGCE and QTS

- Level 2 Outdoor First Aid Training

- Paediatric First Aid Trained

- Level 2 Outdoor Food Hygiene trained

- DSL (Level 3) Safeguarding Training

Childminding from £7.50 per hour
