About Me
Hi, I’m Ashleigh! I’m 32 and have worked with children for the past 15 years. My passion for working with children started from a young age, helping my mum care for my younger siblings, and it has continued to grow throughout my career.
I currently work as a Reception teacher, but I have experience working with children across a wide range of ages, from 9 months to 11 years old. I have also volunteered to support children with SEND, which has given me valuable experience in understanding and responding to different individual needs.
I would describe myself as fun, energetic, caring and patient. I love creating a happy and engaging environment where children feel safe, comfortable and encouraged to be themselves. I especially enjoy getting outdoors with children, whether that’s exploring, playing games, going on adventures or simply enjoying some fresh air!
With my experience in education and childcare, I understand how important it is for children to feel secure, listened to and supported. I aim to make every childcare experience enjoyable while also encouraging children to learn, explore and develop their confidence.

My Experience
I have over 15 years of experience working with children, beginning my career in a private nursery where I progressed to running my own room. This gave me valuable experience in caring for children, planning activities, supporting their development and creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
I then progressed into Teaching Assistant roles, where I had the opportunity to support children across different age groups, including children with complex and additional needs. This experience helped me develop a deeper understanding of how every child learns differently and the importance of adaptive teaching. I learned how to adapt activities, communication and my approach to ensure that all children could participate, feel included and achieve their potential.
From there, I continued to progress along my teaching career path, gaining experience working with both Nursery and Reception-aged children. I currently teach Reception and have worked with children from 9 months through to 11 years old throughout my career.
My varied experience has given me a strong understanding of children’s development and the importance of providing care that is individualised, inclusive and child-centred. I am passionate about creating positive experiences for children and helping them feel confident, supported and happy.
