Miranda
Babysitter in Bournemouth
My Summary
About Me
Hi, I'm Miranda! I'm a caring, patient and responsible person who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and young people. I believe in creating a warm, positive environment where children feel safe, comfortable and supported. I'm reliable, organised and attentive, and I understand how important it is for parents to feel confident that their children are in good hands. Whether it's helping with homework, mealtimes, playing games, doing creative activities or simply being a supportive presence, I always aim to make children feel valued.
My Experience
I have experience working with children and teenagers in different settings. As a member of the residence staff at ETC International College, I supported the wellbeing of young people during their stay and helped create a safe and welcoming environment. I also worked as a cello teacher for children aged 6 to 12, where I was responsible for their care during lessons and enjoyed helping them build confidence while learning new skills. These experiences taught me how to communicate with children of different ages, adapt to their individual needs and remain calm, patient and encouraging.
My Qualifications
I have worked as a member of the residence staff at ETC International College, where I helped care for and support children and teenagers during their stay. This role involved looking after their wellbeing, helping them feel safe and comfortable, and being someone they could approach if they needed help. As part of the role, I completed training in safeguarding, fire safety, and Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene, which strengthened my ability to care for young people responsibly and respond calmly in different situations.
Before this, I worked as a cello teacher for children aged 6 to 12. Parents would leave their children in my care at my home for a couple of hours during their lessons. I really enjoyed building a connection with each child, adapting the lessons to their personality, and helping them feel confident, motivated and supported.
I am also a qualified dietitian in Costa Rica and am currently completing an MSc in Nutrition and Behaviour. I was proud to receive an award for academic excellence as the top-performing student on my course. I believe these experiences reflect the caring, dependable and responsible person I am, as well as the genuine attention I give to every child in my care.
