About Me
Hello, I'm Heidi, the childminder behind The Nature Nook.
I'm a recently registered childminder( Tiney) with several years of experience as a Teaching Assistant in a SEND secondary school, where I supported children with a wide range of additional needs.
That role taught me the importance of patience, empathy, communication and celebrating every child as an individual.
My greatest passion is helping children discover the world through play and nature. I truly believe that play is a superpower, and it's at the heart of everything I do.
Whether we're exploring the garden, creating messy play invitations, reading together in our cosy book corner or enjoying local woodland walks, every experience is thoughtfully planned to support the 7 Areas of Learning and the Characteristics of Effective Learning.
I have an 11 year old daughter and know first hand how hard it is to start the first steps of pre school.
I work closely with families to create a warm, nurturing home-from-home where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn every day.
I live in the Reedley area of Brierfield ( close to Pendleside Hospice and Oaks Hotel.
I live with my husband, daughter and 3 cats.
My Experience
Before becoming a childminder, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in a SEND secondary school, supporting children with a wide range of additional needs. That experience shaped the way I care for children today: with patience, kindness and a belief that every child deserves to feel seen, valued and capable.
My Qualifications
Have a B.A in English Literature. Paediatric first aid. Makaton level 2 . Safeguarding and prevent training .
My Availability
Im available from 8 -5 Monday to Thursday. 8-4 Friday. Though these hours could be tweaked. Please call and we can discuss flexibility.
I offer pick ups from several local schools but please message or call to discuss the options.
My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
From £7 hr £50 full day
