About Me

Hi, I’m Leah! I’m a friendly, caring and enthusiastic person who loves being around children and creating a fun, positive environment for them. I’m naturally patient and approachable, and I always try to make children feel comfortable, listened to and confident in themselves.

I’m currently preparing to start university and I’m offering both tutoring and babysitting services. I’m happy to provide academic support with homework, revision and understanding difficult topics, while keeping learning relaxed and engaging. For babysitting, I’m able to provide a fun and responsible environment where children can enjoy themselves, whether that’s through games, creative activities, reading or simply having someone friendly around.

I’m reliable, organised and easy-going, but I also have a fun and playful side. I really enjoy getting to know children as individuals and adapting to their interests and personalities. My aim is to give parents peace of mind while making sure their children have a positive and enjoyable time with me.

My Experience

I have gained a variety of experience working with children through babysitting, tutoring, teaching and volunteering, which has helped me become confident, patient and responsible when caring for children.

I have babysitting experience looking after children and making sure they are safe, happy and entertained. I’m comfortable taking responsibility for children, keeping them occupied with age-appropriate activities, helping with routines and making sure they feel comfortable while their parents are away. I enjoy getting to know each child’s personality and interests and adapting how I interact with them accordingly.

Alongside babysitting, I have experience in tutoring and supporting children with their learning, including helping with homework, explaining difficult topics and encouraging children to feel more confident academically. I enjoy finding different ways to explain things and making learning feel enjoyable rather than stressful.

I also teach a class of around six children through Adventurer Scout, where I help plan and lead activities, give clear instructions and make sure everyone is included and engaged. I have additionally volunteered at summer camps, giving me experience caring for and interacting with children in a busy, active environment.

I have also had the opportunity to shadow a Speech and Language Therapist at Westlea School, which gave me an insight into supporting children's communication and recognising that every child has different needs.

Overall, these experiences have helped me develop strong communication, organisation, patience and responsibility. Most importantly, they have given me a genuine enjoyment of working with children and helping them feel happy, supported and confident.

My Qualifications

I have a strong academic background and have recently completed my A Levels, including Psychology, Biology and Italian. Studying Psychology has given me a particular interest in child development, behaviour, learning and how different children respond to different environments and approaches.

I also have a range of GCSE qualifications, providing me with a broad academic foundation and allowing me to support children with a variety of school subjects.

My academic experience has also developed my communication, organisation, problem-solving and analytical skills, which I can bring into my tutoring. I’m particularly passionate about helping children understand difficult topics, build their confidence and develop positive attitudes towards learning.

I also have basic First Aid training, which has given me an understanding of how to respond calmly and appropriately to common minor injuries and emergencies. I understand the importance of safety when caring for children and always aim to create a secure and responsible environment.

Alongside my academic qualifications, I have developed practical skills through working with children, which complement my studies and allow me to provide both academic tutoring and reliable childcare.
