My Experience

I have 33 years of experience working with children. I qualified as a primary teacher with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and taught Reception through to year 3 in local OFSTED 'Outstanding' schools until setting up as a private one-to-one tutor within pupils' own homes in Danbury and its surrounding areas. I was an OFSTED registered 'Outstanding' childminder for 6 years in Great Baddow, whilst raising my own two sons (now adults).

My approach to both teaching and childcare is to nurture and encourage exploration, creativity and imagination, in order to learn through fun and practical activities. Happiness, excellent communication, and a recognition of individual personalities and interests, form the basis of my work with children of all ages. I live alone with 3 adorable cats and have held uninterrupted enhanced CRB/DBS certification since 1993, along with first aid and safeguarding training.

My Qualifications

- I have a BA Honours degree and PGCE degree with Primary specialism.
- I have been a qualified primary teacher (QTS), teaching in mid Essex primary schools since 1993.

- I taught Reception and year 1 classes in Brentwood from 1993 through to 1999.
- I was a fully booked OFSTED registered 'Outstanding' childminder from 1999 to 2006 in Great Baddow.
- I returned to teaching from 2006 to 2023 and taught Key Stages 1 and 2 in a local OFSTED 'Outstanding' school.
- From 2023 to 2024 I worked as a part time family support advisor for an SEN education charity in Chelmsford.
- I became a private tutor and ran after school STEM and Art clubs from 2018 to 2026.

My Availability

I am currently available during the day (including school or pre-school pick ups), and in the evenings and at weekends for babysitting in your own home. I am in the process of re-registering as a childminder in order to offer high quality childminder services in my own home for babies and pre-schoolers during the day, and school pick ups in Danbury for ages 4-11 until up to 6pm. I have limited availability for after school primary aged tutoring at present, but please message to enquire.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
• Tutoring from £35.00 per hour
