About Me
About Me
I’m a patient, energetic and enthusiastic childcare professional who loves getting stuck in and creating fun, engaging experiences for children. I’m particularly passionate about working with school-aged children and children with SEND, and I believe that every child deserves to feel understood, supported and able to be themselves.
I’m always happy to get creative, whether that’s through arts and crafts, sensory and messy play, baking, outdoor adventures, sports, dance or imaginative games. I enjoy following a child’s interests and finding activities that they genuinely enjoy, while also helping them build confidence and independence.
I’m experienced in supporting children with a wide range of individual needs and understand that every child communicates, regulates and learns differently. I’m patient and adaptable in my approach and am confident supporting children with their emotions and regulation, helping them feel safe and settled while still encouraging them to have fun.
Having worked with children from a variety of backgrounds and with different needs, as well as managing a busy summer camp, I’m comfortable adapting to new environments and situations. I’m friendly, reliable and approachable, and I’m always ready to get involved, have fun and make sure the children in my care have a positive experience.
My Experience
SEND School – Lead Teaching Assistant
I currently work with children aged 6–10 in a specialist SEND school, supporting children with a wide range of needs including autism, ADHD, PDA, communication difficulties, non-verbal communication, complex medical needs and behavioural challenges.
My role involves supporting children throughout the school day, including learning, play, sensory activities, emotional regulation, personal care and mealtimes. I’m confident supporting children through periods of dysregulation and challenging behaviour, using calm and appropriate de-escalation strategies while adapting my approach to each individual child.
As a Lead TA, I also take responsibility for supporting and supervising other members of staff, helping to manage the classroom and ensure that children’s individual needs are being met. I regularly adapt activities and routines to make them accessible and enjoyable for different abilities and communication styles. I have also supported children on school trips and in a variety of environments outside the classroom.
Barracudas – Camp Manager & Senior Sports Instructor
I have experience working at busy children’s summer camps with children aged 4–14 from a wide range of backgrounds and with a variety of individual needs. As a Camp Manager, I was responsible for supporting a camp of up to 200 children and 20 staff members, helping to ensure the safety, wellbeing and enjoyment of all children attending.
I supported staff in adapting activities for children with additional needs and was confident responding to behavioural, emotional and safeguarding situations. The role required me to be organised, calm under pressure and able to quickly adapt when children needed additional support.
Dance Teacher
I have taught contemporary and commercial dance to children and young people aged 4–15. This experience has helped me develop my ability to engage children of different ages and personalities, build their confidence and create fun, inclusive activities where everyone can participate.
Additional Childcare Experience
Alongside my professional experience in schools and camps, I have also provided babysitting for family friends and have experience working on a one-to-one basis with children in a school setting. Across my different roles, I have gained experience with personal care, trips, complex needs, emotional regulation, de-escalation and adapting activities to suit individual children.
My Qualifications
I hold a range of qualifications and specialist training relevant to providing safe, supportive and high-quality childcare.
