My Experience

As part of my Child Nursing course, I have gained a wide range of experience through placements in health visiting, a SEN school and a paediatric ward. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work with children of different ages and needs, while developing my communication, safeguarding, organisation and care skills. My placement in health visiting allowed me to work closely with children and their families in a community setting, while my experience in a SEN school helped me understand the importance of adapting care and activities to each child's individual needs. On a paediatric ward, I developed confidence in caring for children in a healthcare environment and learned to remain calm and reassuring in different situations. Throughout the summer, I also worked as a Forest School Assistant, supporting children with outdoor activities, encouraging independence and learning through play and exploration. Together, these experiences have given me a strong understanding of children's wellbeing and development, as well as the confidence to provide caring, reliable and engaging childcare.

My Qualifications

I am currently studying Child Nursing and am taking a year out from my course, with practical experience gained through placements in health visiting, a SEN school and a paediatric ward. My training has given me a strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, health and wellbeing, and providing individualised care for children. I hold a valid DBS check, Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding Children training. I also have a full UK driving licence, giving me the flexibility to support with school runs, activities and days out when required.
