Part-Time Self-Employed Household Assistant – Battersea SW11

Tuesday–Thursday | Approx. 5:30–7:00pm | 4.5 hours approximately per week initially

We are a small, busy home-based childcare setting in Battersea SW11 looking for a reliable, practical and discreet local household assistant to provide regular end-of-day domestic support.

The role is primarily an end-of-day kitchen and household reset following a busy day with the children.

Typical duties include:

Collecting plates, cups and dishes from the upstairs dining/living area and returning them to the kitchen
Loading/unloading the dishwasher and washing up as required
Clearing food waste and rubbish/recycling
Cleaning and resetting kitchen surfaces
Hoovering the stairs and communal areas
Mopping the kitchen and other areas as required
Giving the bathroom/toilet a quick end-of-day clean and reset
Pet-related duties for our two cats
Working through an agreed list of additional household cleaning/reset tasks when time permits

No childcare is required. However, as we operate a home-based childcare setting, children may still be present for part of the working time. We therefore need someone who is comfortable working discreetly and professionally in this environment.

We are looking for someone who is trustworthy, proactive and able to work independently without needing significant direction. Experience working in busy family homes or similar environments would be particularly welcome.

Location: Battersea SW11
Regular hours: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, approximately 5:30–7:00pm
Initial commitment: Approximately 4.5 hours per week, with potential for additional work by mutual agreement. A weekly schedule can be mutually decided in advance.

We are looking for someone very local to us, operating on a self-employed basis who is able to provide invoices for their services. Payment can be made regularly against invoice.

Due to the nature of our childcare setting, the appropriate enhanced DBS/suitability requirements will also need to be completed. We can assist with the required process.
