My Requirements

THE ROLE

Based at our home near Notting Hill Gate station. Regarding the house: we have a lovely cleaner who comes every two weeks, so household duties are light — mostly nursery bits like her meals, bottles and laundry, plus small things while she naps that help keep the house ticking along: folding clean laundry, tidying up after playtime. We don't expect miracles; we'd just love someone who naturally pitches in.

I'm planning to return to work part-time when she's around 12 months old (November 2026), but only once she's genuinely settled and happy with her nanny — so this role begins with a slow, paid settling-in period.

Settling in (first month or so): a few hours a day, a few days a week, gradually building trust. We don't believe in leaving her to cry it out, so we need someone patient and unhurried who is happy to take it slow.

Once settled: regular days each week (likely 2 days of around 8 hours — we'll confirm the exact days as my return-to-work arrangements firm up, so some flexibility would be much appreciated). The role is sole charge, following the daily rhythm we've already established for her, with outings to local classes and playgroups. Depending on how things develop, there may be an option to expand the role into a nanny share with a close friend's family.

Longer term: she starts nursery in September 2027, and from then the role would reshape to term-time wraparound care (shorter days around nursery hours) plus full days during nursery holidays. We'd love to find someone who wants to stay with our family for the long term — stability and consistency of caregivers really matter to us.

IDEAL NANNY

We're not looking for someone to simply keep her safe and fed — we'd love a nanny who genuinely enjoys this age: reading to her every day, songs, sensory and messy play, chatting to her and narrating the world, and getting out to classes and playgroups.

Must have criteria:

- Paediatric/baby first aid certificate (in date)
- Experience caring for babies under 1
- Respectful of our parenting choices, i.e., happy to follow our lead and her established routine
- Respectful of our cultural and religious background (Muslim, Southeast Asian)
- Enhanced DBS check and checkable references

Bonus criteria, but not essential:

- Nursery or childminder experience
- Experience with early potty training / elimination communication
- A parent yourself, or lived experience raising children
- Open to a possible nanny share with a friend's family (not yet confirmed)
- Ofsted-registered
