About Me
[UPDATE 14 OCTOBER 2026 - POSITION FILLED] We’re a family of three in Notting Hill: me, my husband and our 11-month-old daughter. I’m on maternity leave at the moment and going back to work soon, so we’d really value the help. We’re looking for one person to come to our home once a week to keep the house running smoothly and take some of the mental load off us: what’s for dinner, what we need to buy, and where everything lives.

What the role involves
- Planning. Each week, suggest a menu for five dinners and send it to us with a complete shopping list, quantities included, at least 3 days before your cook day. We’ll approve the menu and have the groceries delivered before you arrive.
- Cooking. Batch cook five dinners for two adults and our daughter, then portion, label and store them. You’ll have an oven, stove, Thermomix TM6 and rice cooker to use. We’ll discuss dietary requirements at interview.
- Keeping the house tidy. Fold and put away laundry, organise cupboards, tidy the toys away and generally leave the house looking tidy.
What this role isn’t
We already have a cleaner who comes twice a month. She cleans the bathrooms and kitchen, hoovers and mops, changes the sheets, and folds and irons the laundry. We don’t expect you to do any proper cleaning. Folding laundry and keeping things in order in the weeks between her visits is what we need help with.
Why consistency matters to us
Our daughter is settling with her childminders at the moment, so we aren’t looking for regular nannying. Over time, though, we’d like her to get to know you as a familiar face at home. If our usual childcare falls through, we’d love to be able to ask you for occasional backup cover.

The details
Day: Flexible, ideally Wednesday or Friday
Hours: 4 paid hours a week: about 30 minutes planning the menu and shopping list from your home, then about 3.5 hours at our house
Pay: £18-20 per hour gross depending on experience
Start: As soon as possible
Long-term role. We’re looking for someone reliable to work with us long term.
