About Me
I’m Charlotte, a 29 year old mum of two, living with my fiancé and our two children. My son, Riley, is 11, and my daughter, Issy, is seven. We’ve been lucky enough to call our current house home for the past 11 years, so it’s a place that holds a lot of special memories for us as a family.
From my home, I run my childminding business, creating a warm, cosy and welcoming home from home environment where children feel safe, happy and valued. I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) while going above and beyond to ensure every child is supported to achieve their very best. I believe children learn best when they are given exciting, meaningful and age appropriate opportunities to explore, develop their confidence and discover their own interests.
I aim to create an environment that combines the comfort and security of a home with plenty of opportunities for learning, development, creativity and exploration ??
We’re also a two pet household! We have Rupert, our sausage dog, who is incredibly friendly and always happy to meet new people, and Jim, our cat, who much prefers to keep himself to himself and stay out of the way!
Family life is a huge part of who I am, and our home is always busy, welcoming, lived in and full of character! exactly the kind of environment I wanted to create for the children in my care!
My Experience
I have worked in childcare for many years and have gained a wealth of experience supporting children in their early years. Before becoming a childminder myself, I worked as a childminding assistant for seven years. This gave me valuable hands on experience caring for children of different ages, supporting their learning and development and creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
After seven years as an assistant, I decided to take the leap and become a childminder in my own right. I have been a registered Ofsted childminder since November 2025 and absolutely love being able to provide children with a warm, home from home environment where they can feel secure, build confidence and thrive.
I am fully enhanced DBS checked and keep all of my essential training and qualifications up to date. This includes safeguarding, paediatric first aid and food hygiene. I am committed to continually developing my knowledge and skills so that I can provide the highest standard of care and ensure the children in my setting are safe, happy and given every opportunity to reach their full potential.
My seven years of experience as a childminding assistant, alongside my experience as a mum of two and now as a registered childminder, has given me a strong understanding of children’s individual needs. I believe every child is unique, and I aim to get to know each child as an individual, following their interests and providing opportunities that support their development, independence and confidence.
My Qualifications
I have completed a Full Introduction to Childminding course provided by Wiltshire Council, giving me a strong foundation in the requirements, responsibilities and standards involved in running a safe and effective childminding setting.
I am fully enhanced DBS checked and have completed the relevant paediatric first aid, safeguarding and food hygiene training required for my role.
Alongside my formal qualifications and training, I have seven years of experience working as a childminding assistant, which has provided me with extensive practical experience in caring for and supporting children’s learning and development.
I am committed to continually developing my knowledge and skills and regularly keep my training up to date. I believe ongoing professional development is important in ensuring I can provide the highest standard of care and give every child the best possible opportunities to learn, develop and thrive.
