About Me

About our family

Hello! We’re a family of three: myself, Haleemah, my husband Chris and our daughter Raya, who was born in May 2026.

Raya is a happy, curious and affectionate baby who is becoming more alert and interactive every day. She loves cuddles, being out for walks, exploring her surroundings and spending time with people. She is currently breastfed, so someone who is comfortable supporting a breastfeeding baby and following her individual routine would be ideal.

I’m currently on maternity leave and looking to find a kind, experienced and trustworthy nanny who can become a familiar and important person in Raya’s life.

Initially, I’m looking for ad-hoc childcare for a few hours at a time, for things such as appointments, errands or simply giving me some time to myself. As we build trust and get to know each other, I would ideally like this to develop into something more regular, potentially one day a week.

Longer term, if we find the right person, there is also the potential for the role to develop into more regular childcare when I return to work in 2027. I would really value finding someone who is interested in building a long-term relationship with our family rather than simply providing occasional babysitting.

Alongside childcare, some light household support would also be really helpful. This could include things such as baby laundry, folding and putting away clothes, tidying Raya’s things, keeping the kitchen and living areas tidy, putting things away and generally helping with the day-to-day organisation of the home. We’re not looking for a cleaner, but someone who is happy to help keep things running smoothly alongside caring for Raya would be wonderful.

Chris runs his own business and I work as a producer, so life can be busy and our schedules can vary. We’re a relaxed, friendly and loving family and would love to find someone who is warm, reliable, proactive and genuinely enjoys caring for babies.

For me, trust is particularly important. I’d love to find someone who is confident enough to use their initiative, communicate openly and become someone I feel completely comfortable leaving Raya with.

We’re based in Luton and would ideally love to find someone local. We’re very happy to start slowly with shorter sessions and build things up naturally as Raya gets to know you.

We’re really looking forward to finding the right person to become part of our little family’s support network. ??

Household Help

Initially, I’ll generally be at home during childcare sessions, as Raya is currently breastfed and I’ll be responsible for feeding her. I’m looking for someone who can support me by taking care of Raya between feeds and giving her lots of attention, interaction and stimulation.

The main focus will be making sure Raya is happy, comfortable, entertained and engaged. This could include playing with her, reading to her, singing, talking to her, going for walks, tummy time and age-appropriate activities, as well as settling her for naps and following her usual routine.

As she starts solids, I’ll gradually introduce feeding into the role, so ideally I’d love someone who is comfortable preparing and giving age-appropriate food and helping me establish a routine as she grows.

I’d also really value someone who is happy to help with light household tasks alongside childcare, particularly when Raya is settled or sleeping. This could include:

• Baby laundry, folding and putting clothes away
• Tidying Raya’s toys and belongings
• Keeping the kitchen and living areas tidy
• Putting things away and generally keeping the home organised
• Preparing simple food for Raya as she starts solids
• Other small day-to-day tasks that help keep the household running smoothly

The priority will always be Raya, so I’m not expecting household tasks to take priority over her care. I’m simply looking for someone proactive who naturally notices what needs doing and is happy to lend a hand.

Most importantly, I’m looking for someone warm, nurturing, reliable and confident with babies, who genuinely enjoys interacting with them and is happy to build a relationship with both Raya and me. As our trust grows, I’d love for the role to become more independent and potentially develop into regular or longer-term childcare.
