About Me
Hello!
My name is Philippa and I have been working with children for over 15 years. I worked in an outstanding private day nursery for the first five years of my career before then spending the next ten years teaching, developing experience in Nursery, Reception and Year 1.
I thoroughly enjoy working with children, engaging with their natural curiosity and spark to teach them about the world around themselves.
Since welcoming my first child into the world in January 2026 I am taking a step back from the fast pace of teaching and putting my experience, enjoyment and skillset into creating a warm and welcoming home to childmind in.
I am excited to be able to support two children, alongside my daughter, with their learning and development. Carefully planning exciting activities that follow their age, stage and interests to move their learning forward. As well as plan regular trips out and visits around Manchester to keep their days busy, fun and interactive as possible. I have a passion for outdoor learning and creative play which can keep little minds and hands busy for many hours!
My Experience
I started my career working with children (15 years ago) in a private day nursery as bank staff. I worked mainly in the baby room but I also worked in the toddler room and preschool room.
During my time in this job I trained to be a primary school teacher and have since taught in Nursery, Reception and Year 1.
I have experience of supporting children with SEND in mainstream and ensuring every child achieves in their own unique way.
I am specialised in Early Years Education and can teach phonics and maths in a systematic way to build strong foundations for learning and enjoyment.
