My Summary

My Experience

I have over 10 years of experience working with and caring for children, starting out as a Rainbow and Guide leader and building my experience through a variety of childcare, education and volunteering roles. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work on school trips, teach, babysit, work in daycare and camps, and support children as a teaching assistant.

For the past six years, I’ve worked in Disney Entertainment, where I’ve had the incredibly special opportunity to work alongside some very well-known friends, including Rapunzel, Ariel, Anna and many more! My role involved meeting and entertaining thousands of children every week, creating magical experiences and making sure every child felt happy, included and cared for.

I hold a full Enhanced DBS and have completed safeguarding qualifications, alongside hands-on experience in schools, nurseries, camps and voluntary and paid childcare settings. Most recently, I worked as a camp counsellor in a 2–4-year-old daycare setting, caring for over 30 children and helping with everything from toileting and feeding to activities, play and general day-to-day care. I’ve also gained valuable experience working as a teaching assistant in a Reception class.

On a more personal level, I live with my nephew, who was born during Covid, and I’ve been a big part of his everyday life for the past six years. This has given me plenty of real-life experience of the joys (and challenges!) of caring for a little one and has taught me so much about patience, routine, fun and, most importantly, making children feel safe and loved.

Alongside my childcare experience, I teach dance, drama and singing at weekends to children and young people in Brighouse and Halifax, which is something I absolutely love. I’m naturally energetic, creative and enthusiastic, and I really enjoy helping children build their confidence while having lots of fun along the way.

I’m passionate about working with children and feel incredibly lucky that so much of my career and life has involved doing just that. Whether it’s helping with their everyday care, supporting their learning, getting stuck into a creative activity or simply making them smile, I love creating a safe, happy and encouraging environment where children can be themselves.

My Qualifications

I have a degree in musical theatre.
I don’t have official childcare qualifications but I do have 10+ years of experience. I have a full enhanced DBS.
I have a safeguarding qualification.
I have an online safety qualification.

My Availability

I currently only work Friday evenings and Saturdays as that’s when my teaching jobs are. I would be happy to work almost any other time. My only issue is that I don’t drive so if that’s essential for you I’m afraid I’m not your girl. However, because of this I’m very good at public transport and would be willing to use it.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £17.00 per hour

My fees are up for negotiation
