About Me
I’m Paige, mum to my little girl Poppy, who is nearly 2. I’m currently looking for the right childcare setting for Poppy and, most importantly, someone who will genuinely get to know her as an individual and provide her with a warm, safe and nurturing environment.
I have around 10 years of experience working in childcare and hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare. I have worked my way up to Deputy Manager within a nursery, so I have a good understanding of children’s development, safeguarding, routines and the importance of providing high quality care. Because of my own childcare background, finding the right person for Poppy is really important to me. I’m looking for somewhere I can feel completely comfortable leaving her and know that she is being cared for with the same patience, kindness and attention I would give her myself.
Poppy is a lovely, happy and very chilled little girl. She is generally quite calm and enjoys quieter environments rather than being somewhere overly busy or overwhelming. She loves books, Bluey, music and spending time with adults, and she is a very curious little girl who enjoys watching and taking everything in. She is also becoming very chatty and loves joining in with songs, books and little activities.
Poppy has her own personality and pace, so I’m looking for childcare that will follow her interests and encourage her development without putting unnecessary pressure on her. She benefits from patience, encouragement and lots of positive reinforcement, particularly when trying something new.
She is currently developing her confidence with walking and physical movement, so I would like her carers to be happy to support her with this naturally through everyday play and activities. She has also had some professional input around her physical development, so I can provide any relevant information and recommendations that would be helpful to her carers.
My Requirements
I’m looking for someone who is warm, patient, reliable and genuinely enjoys working with young children. I would love Poppy to have a carer who will talk to her, read with her, play with her and involve her in age appropriate activities rather than simply supervising her.
Communication is really important to me. I would like to have a good relationship with whoever looks after Poppy and be kept updated about how she is getting on, what she has enjoyed during the day and anything I should be aware of.
I’m particularly interested in a calm, nurturing environment where Poppy can build a trusting relationship with her carer and gradually become more confident and independent.
As someone who has worked in childcare myself, I understand the importance of safeguarding, routines, boundaries, communication and following a child’s individual needs. At the same time, I’m looking for someone who will bring their own experience and ideas and become someone Poppy feels safe and happy with.
Ultimately, I’m not just looking for somewhere for Poppy to spend the day. I’m looking for someone I can trust to care for her, understand her little personality and help her thrive.
